Unique experiences
Whenever I give attunements, I always do a debrief with the attunees after their attunements. The stories are always different and so very interesting to listen to. Each of the attunement reactions possible reflect a bit of the attunees' health situation at that time of attunement. It may bring back memories which only the attunee know of, so some of them see a vision or image or see somebody in their mind (as these reactions are so private, only they will understand the meaning of what they saw and felt). Sometimes, different emotions may surface - crying (a teardrop or outbursts) is common. The clairsentient ones will feel more than see, so they feel energy flowing through them, they feel their body parts tingle or literally sense balls of energy wrapping around them. An amazing common reaction by the attunee is seeing colours - yes, colours ranging from bright pink, yellow, orange, purple, green, white, blue, etc - and I haven't spoken of the different shades which only the attunee see. Of course, I didn't get to see what they saw, but from the way they describe the colours, I know they are of different shades.
The plethora of reactions when receiving Reiki attunements just show that each experience is unique and different. Attunement at different levels of learning Reiki (Reiki 1/2/3/4), will of course be different.
Purpose of Reiki Attunement

The attunement is the energetic process and empowerment ritual, which connects the Reiki student with the Source of Reiki. This connection allows for Reiki to flow through the student's body for self-treatments or for the hands on (or hands off) treatment of others.
During a Reiki attunement:
*A Certified Reiki Master Teacher serves as the bridge between Reiki and student, initiating the energetic process that facilitates the direct connection between Reiki Source & the student.
*The student has their eyes closed during the attunement procedures. Contact occurs at few parts of the body, with the purpose to open up the necessary few chakras to access the energy.
*Once the e nergy channels are created within the energy body of the student, Reiki can henceforth flow through the hands and body.
*These energy channels, allow for Reiki to be available to flow through the student's body and hands (for themselves and for others) for the rest of their LIFETIME.
